Efficient Silicon photovoltaics with smart electronics and lighting systems - TAPSUN Project

1.   Technology development in the design of Microinverters [Power range: 100-200 kWp] for Grid connected Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV).
2. Technology development in the design of 20kWp, 100kWp grid tied Photovoltaic smart inverter with additional ancillary features like reactive power injection and active harmonic filtering.

Measurement Innovation in Science & Technology (MIST)

To further upgrade the metrology lab for better industrial competitiveness, economic security and quality of service to be rendered to calibration labs and industries in the eastern region in the fields of dimension metrology, pressure metrology and mass metrology. Issues to be addressed through this work are:
a) To extend the range of calibration and testing for service as well as R&D output.
b) To improve the uncertainties of measurements and bring them at par with National/International level. Better CMCs.

Development of Advanced Materials for Next-Generation Energy - Efficient Devices (D-NEED)

To develop cost effective processes and technologies for newer materials, structures, assemblies and components for the development of cost-effective and energy-efficient devices and/or their components, which include

I. Cost efficient fuel cell
II. CNT based light weight high strength composites
III. High performance nanocomposite permanent magnets for energy efficient motors.
IV. Nitrides- and silicon based solar cell for efficient solar energy harvesting.
V. Large grain thin films on flexible substrate for photovoltaic application
