About CSIR-CMERI:

The CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CSIR- CMERI) is established in February 1958 with the specific goals of development of mechanical engineering technology. It is the only national laboratory dedicated to develop mechanical  engineering technologies. In India, the number of mechanical engineering technology has accounted for nearly half of the total technology imported. In order to develop indigenously the mechanical engineering related technology for the society R&D can play a key role in self-reliance. As a constituent member under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, CMERI – a premier establishment, dedicates to research and development –extends over mechanical and allied engineering fields. CMERI has started contributing in the area of Functional and Smart Materials. Extensive R&Ds are being carried out on Graphene synthesis, growth and its applications. The Technology of Large scale Graphene production has been transferred to a industry. Some of the significant developments are Graphene based lubricants, Ultracapaitor, Composites, and Coatings.

Objectives:

The objectives of this conference is to bring together participants from R&D organizations, academia and industries to exchange and share their research ideas and discuss the future trends and role of Graphene and smart functional materials insocietal applications for sustainable developments.

Topics of the Conference:

The scope of NCGFM-18 covers a broad range of hot topics on Graphene and functional materials. The authors from R&D organizations, academia and industries are invited to submit research papers (Max 4 pages) on the applications Graphene and functional materials:

Best Paper and Poster Awards:

• Students are encouraged to participate in poster presentation. There shall be three best student poster  awards.
• Three best Paper awards shall be given for oral presentations.

Location:

CSIR-CMERI is located about 10 km from Durgapur Railway Station and 1 km off to NH-2. Durgapur is 3 hours  drive from Kolkata Airport and 20 minutes drive from Durgapur Airport (New Airport). The city is also well connected by train from Howrah railway station on Howrah-Delhi route.

Accommodation and Hotels:

Delegates need to make the payments for accommodation in hotels or guesthouses. Durgapur is having standard and 3-star hotel accommodations. Booking can be made directly. CSIR-CMERI can provide sharing accommodation in hostel up to 50-60 student delegates @300/- per day sharing basis. Booking will be made on first come first serve basis.

Publication:

• Full paper including references (limited to 4 pages) should be in ‘.docx’ format; written in A4 page, single column, ‘normal’ margin, 10 pt Times new roman font and 1.5 line spacing. References should as per Vancouver style.
• The selected papers presented at the conference shall be published in the special issue of Journal of The Institution of Engineers (India) after following due peer view process.
