- Utilization of renewable sources of energy like solar and biomass for drying purposes;
- Heating system backup using biomass and electrical heaters for uninterrupted service during rainy season and also during night;
- Controlled atmosphere drying through selection of the drying parameters such as moisture content, air temperature and air flow rate;
- Better-quality product by adequate drying which helps to preserve the flavour, texture, and colour of the food;
- Reduction in electrical energy consumption (~ 4 kWh) as compared to the conventional dryers (~ 25 kWh) for 50 kg/batch dryer capacity.
