Abstract:

The vehicle mounted distributed irritant spray system for riot control is for dispersing unruly mob from all sides of the riot control vehicle. The mist spraying near the vehicle and the jet spraying for moderate distance covers wide area around the vehicle. The mixing of the irritant liquid with the water is accomplished in the tank by whirling jets generated through bypassing the excess pumping fluid to whirl nozzle head. Proportioning of irritant solution with water for desired irritant concentration during spraying is carried out by operating valves in the bifurcated pump suction pipelines emerging from two different liquid storage tanks and valve in concentrated irritant pipeline from irritant vessel.     The spraying can be done in any side or all sides of the vehicle by operating electrical switches from driver’s cabin. The pumping system has diversion feature for utilization of the pressurized water for other application like foam generation for firefighting of the riot control vehicle and washing the pipe network. The provision for depressurizing the irritant spraying system to atmospheric pressure   after completion of spraying is also integrated for enhanced safety of the security persons. The vehicle mounted spraying system is made failsafe by incorporation of override manual features in case exigency.
