Training Program on "Waste to Wealth: Liquid Waste Management" Conducted on 29–30 January 2026 Contract Research to find out the suitability of graphene as hot forging lubricant.
i) Very stable dispersion of graphene in aqueous/ organic medium preventing the settle down of the lubricant additives.
ii) Reduction of forging loads and resostance to sticking-release properties.
iii) Enhancement of die life as compared to oil or gaphite-based lubricants
iv) Improvement of surface finishing and die life.
v) Cost reduction of the forged products.
vi) Cleaning of the environment as no graphite is deposited on the forge shop floor.
vii) No white deposits on the forging die resulting the reduction of maintenance cost.
