Quantachrome Autosorb iQ2 Surface Area & Pore Volume Analyzer is an instrument to determine the specific surface area of powders, solids and granules through chemisorption and physisorption of various types of gases like N2, CO2, H2, water vapour etc. Pore size analysis, micropore analysis, pore size distribution can also be determined by this instrument.
The Quantachrome Autosorb iQ2 system determines the adsorption/desorption isotherms and pore volume of the adsorbents by nitrogen adsorption–desorption isotherm, measured at 77 K. Before this, samples are to be degassed at 200°C under vacuum prior to N2 adsorption. Surface area and pore volumes (or pore size distribution) are determined using the Brunauer–Emmet–Teller (BET) equation, Barret–Joyner–Halenda (BJH) and DFT methods respectively.
