- Study the hydrodynamic modeling of the fluidized bed gasifier
- Modeling the overall performance of the gasifier by integrating the reaction kinetics with fluidized bed hydrodynamics
What was achieved :
- Hydrodynamic model of fluidized bed gasifier is developed and detail hydrodynamic behavior like pressure drop across the bed, particle volume fraction distribution, gas and particle velocity distribution etc. are studied in detail. The effect of gas-solid drag model, particle-particle interaction and particle-wall interaction on the hydrodynamic behavior is also studied.
- A comprehensive 3-D kinetic model of bubbling fluidized bed biomass gasifier is developed by using Euler-Lagrange Computational Particle Fluid Dynamics (CPFD) model. The complex gas-solid hydrodynamic is coupled with gasification reaction kinetics.
