Main objectives :
- To enhance the capability of the existing Central Research Facility (CRF) by procurement of Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope with attached EDS and straining stage.
- To enhance the capability of CRF through effective maintenance of instruments already procured/to be procured.
What was achieved : FESEM has been procured as per schedule. Other facilities in CRF are effectively being utilized for various research projects of CSIR-CMERI. It is being used extensively for various R& D activities of the institute. The facility is also being utilized by outside organizations like NIT Durgapur, ISM Dhanbad, NISST Shibpur, IISER, DVC, ALSTOM etc.
