Bruker's mechanical testers and tribometer provide the most comprehensive and versatile means of investigating tribology—friction, wear, load, hardness, and lubrication. It offers higher speeds, more torque, and better force measurement and can perform practically every common tribological test on nano and micro scales. Bruker’s UMT-2 is a versatile mechanical testing tool with a wide range of interchangeable drives and fixtures and primarily used for characterization of tribological and mechanical properties of a wide range of surfaces. This platform is capable of testing samples under rotary to reciprocating motion, from sub-newton to kilo-newton force measurement, or to environmental testing from room temperature up to 1000°C. This instrument can be configured to conduct over 20 standard ASTM, ISO or DIN tribology tests. These tests can be performed dry or in liquid, at room temperature or at elevated temperatures, and under humidity or in vacuum. The machine has advanced servo control and patented force sensor designs which allow all of this versatility to be achieved without compromising industry-leading accuracy and repeatability.
