Redox non-innocence approach for multielectron small molecule managment using Chromium and Manganese Porphyrinogen coordiination compounds

Project Number:
GAP183212
Project Type:
Project Date:
26/05/2014 to 31/05/2017
Cost of the Project:
36.70
Sponsoring Agency:
Science & Engineering Research Board, Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi, Govt. of India
Deliverables:

(i) Design and sysnthesis of non-innocent N4-coordinating and also N-confused porphyrnogen ligands.
(ii) Efficient high yield one-pot synthesis of chromium and manganese-porphyrinogen complexes.
(iii) The structural, electrochemical and physical properties of the resulting compounds will be characterized.
(iv) How is porphyrinogen affected when coordinating a redox-active chromium and manganese metal centre (a) what overall oxidation states are available to the overall entity; (b) What are the structures in the solid and solution states (c) What are the electronic structures: These points will be scrutinized.
(v) The responsive ability of the complexes: can they behave as multi-electron agents and can they be selective for multi-electron pathways over single-electron transfers?
(vi) To study the reactivity of complexes toward small molecules activation such as O2 and NO.
