The available feedstock in market for production of Biodiesel are mainly Animal Tallow, Fatty Acid Distillates, Stearin, Acid Oil, Used Cooking Oil etc. which are economically viable too. On the contrary, all these feedstock are having FFA ranging from 10 to 100%. This plant gives the unique solution to handle these high FFA feedstock. The processing cost per litre of Biodiesel in this plant ranges from Rs. 7 to Rs. 10/- only, excluding cost of feedstock. It has become possible to produce biodiesel from low cost feedstock at less than Rs. 40 /- per litre using this plant. Hence, the industry may find it a very attractive business model as the selling points and selling price are well defined by oil companies. The plant creates an opportunity of employment generation starting from feedstock collection, biodiesel production, quality check, transportation, selling of glycerol (by-product) and biodiesel. One single plant can generate employment for up to ten people.

Content Details: 

Automation of biodiesel plant is achieved by integrating the temperature sensors, flow meter solenoid valves, level sensors, motors, pumps and heaters through a PLC. The degree of automation has been developed to eliminate manual intervention to the extent possible. The whole automation process is easily managed with the HMI.
