Dr. Palash Kumar Maji, is currently working as Chief Scientist  at CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, Durgapur. He completed B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, M.Tech. in Design and Production Engg. from NIT, Durgapur and Ph.D. from IIEST, Shibpur. He has more than 25 years of experience in Research and Development of Mechanical Systems and presently he is Head of "Advanced Design & Analysis Group" at CSIR-CMERI.

Dr. Maji has contributed significantly in several research projects related to Special purpose Machines, Customized Vehicles, Farm machinery,  Additive Manufacturing, Riot Control Vehicle and Ballistic Weapon System.  Being Head of the "Advanced Design and Analysis Group", guides scientists of his department towards execution of R&D projects related to Development of Indigenous Technology towards Strategic Sector, Agriculture Machines, Society and Industries.

As a faculty of ACSIR, he teaches the subjects of Mechanical Engineering to the students enrolled in M Tech and PhD courses. He has guided many B Tech/M Tech students during their vocational training and final year project.

He has filled 08 National/International patents and published more than 50 research papers in Journals and Conferences.
