CSIR-CMERI, a Constituent Laboratory of CSIR desires to be competitive in the knowledge driven economy. It should thus have the ability to co-opt external skills and competencies not available within the organization through suitable consultancy services for developing clients for licensing of the institute’s Knowledgebase, IP. Such a consultant can either be in the science & technology area or in areas related to business development, intellectual property rights management, safety management, and human resources management. The empanelment/engagement of the technical and business development consultants for marketing or creating business opportunities of different technologies developed at CSIR-CMERI will be purely on temporary basis.

A Walk-in-interview will be conducted at CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur during 30th September – 01st October, 2024 to select candidates for engagement as various positions of project personnel under various projects. The selected candidates will have opportunity of hands-on training/exposure of working under different R&D projects at state of the art Laboratories. The vacancy position may vary either way even across the disciplines or projects.

A Walk-in-interview will be conducted at CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur on 3rd April, 2024 to select candidates for engagement of Five (05) CSIR JRF-GATE (UR-04 & OBC-01) fellows under ‘CSIR’s Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) GATE scheme for Indian nationals. Selected candidates will have opportunity to work at CSIR-CMERI with modern infrastructure facilities on contemporary research projects and obtain Ph.D degree under Integrated Dual Degree PhD(IDDP) program from Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR).

CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, established in 1958, is the apex R&D Institute for mechanical engineering and allied disciplines under the aegis of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), which is an Autonomous Body under Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. The present priority areas of research of the institute include Development of technologies related to Advanced Design and Analysis; Robotics & Mechatronics, Advanced Manufacturing and Metrology, Electronics & Embedded Systems, Drives & Control; Near Netshape Manufacturing, Micro-Systems Technologies; Precision Farm Machinery; Advanced Functional Materials, Tribology; Product and Process design, Renewable Energy Technologies etc.

Applications are invited from the eligible and interested undergraduate/ post graduate students to provide opportunities to get exposure to specialized research skills and hands-on research skill development experience. Students who wish to pursue their academic projects for 2-10 months as part of their academic curriculum or otherwise can apply for this program. Students must possess an excellent academic record, interest, and aptitude to pursue research.
